Re: So did you cry last night?
Nope.

Thankfully the way the night panned out it meant it was one of celebration not sadness.

also the sound system was shite so couldn't hear them talk

Re: So did you cry last night?
No.

Probably a bit insulated from the collective emotion by 200+ miles, though.

final whistle, and walking down the steps on way out of BML I had tears in my eyes but avoided a full blub!

Re: So did you cry last night?
Yup... at final whistle when the realisation hit home... hence why I wanted and needed to watch this match on me Jack... just me, my thoughts and most important of all my memories... Sulli, Gold and Tits McGee can rip our home down but they can't take what's in my memory bank... love the place and always will...

Oh... and obviously Fuck the Hotpoint

Re: So did you cry last night?
The only time I had a tear in my eye was before the game when the band were playing Abide With Me and they had the on screen tribute to those no longer with us. Made me think of my mum who took me to a few games when I was younger.

Re: So did you cry last night?
I had a year at the end, just looking around the ground, was just thinking this is the end. The only place I could go and whatever problems I got going on in life and I've had a few, or certain I walked in that ground all the problems and life worries just disappeared. A sought of football meditation. I'm gonna miss Upton park. I have absolutely no interest in being at the first game at that manky bowl shapped athletics stadium, but I'm a grumpy old bastard.

It definitely was a tear😝

Re: So did you cry last night?
When I was walking into the ground with my dad and my younger son and my dad looking all emotional it almost set me off.

Same when my dad was talking to another STH a couple of seats down who'd also been going about 50 to 60 years.

And Abide With Me and the people who'd died and again when we sang bubbles on kick off.

I managed to avoid any crying but I got fucking close.

The funny thing is that the rest of the match and afterwards I didn't feel sad at all. And the PA system was so shite it didn't add to the emotion of the night.

Anyone see Jamie Redknapp welling up at the end of the Sky coverage? the bloke is a bit of a knob IMO but realised he grew up at Upton Park with his Dad at that moment, fair play, cry it out Jamie!!

Not in or around the ground. But yesterday morning and this morning I've been choked up more than once, bloody David Essex caught me out listening to Alan Brazil yesterday.

Had a bit of a lump in my throat listening to Johnathan Pearce last night who blubbed towards the end.

Re: So did you cry last night?
Other than being devoid of any emotions, there was no way the smile was leaving my face last night.

Bloody bizarre though knowing I'll never ever go back there after 450 odd visits!

Was fine until right up to the end when Bobby turned the lights out

I'm still not too fussed really.

Been to the ground hundreds and hundreds of times but it's time for us to move on.

Fantastic send-off last night though (aside from the embarrassing closing ceremony) and I'm delighted about that.

Yeah in your NON-DRUID eyes...

Re: So did you cry last night?
You've moved on from attending Soldi0 and the modern game, so why can't the club move on as a mover yourself?
